It's a gorgeous day today. Too gorgeous of a day to be stuck inside. But if I must be stuck inside working, I'm thankful for my window. I have a very large, bay window in my classroom and from it I can overlook a field which usually has two or three horses in it, a rustic yet beautiful log church and the lake. I'm really very fortunate to have this view from my class - I don't take it for granted!
Now that I'm thinking of it (and starting to get all profound) I can also see a septic transfer station, a very run down gas station and a parking lot. But I think we can make the choices to see what we want to see out of our windows. Those horses are really enjoying the sun today - I can just feel them soaking up the rays. The sky is so incredibly blue and it makes the brightness of the snow on the lake that much more brilliant. Sometimes there are a lot of vehicles parked at that log church because it tends to get used for funerals a lot but today there are just a few vehicles there. Maybe a paid pastor but probably more volunteers giving of themselves and their time for a worthy cause.
I'm thankful for what I'm seeing out my window today. May your windows all bring you sights that make you thankful too! A.
