This will be the 100th post on this blog.
What?
For some reason, this surprises me.
100 posts. Exactly. That is a lot of posts, guys.
Anyway, in the spirit of a special post, I have to blog about a special day, and what day is more special than leap year? None. So here it goes:
There are a lot of holidays out there.
Some of my favourites include Christmas, Easter, Hallowe'en (remember no judgement, A!) and my Birthday... oh and St. Patrick's Day.... and Valentine's.... and April Fools....
Anyway!
The lame thing about these holidays is that they happen every year.
Now, I'm only fifteen. A year is a long time for me. I've celebrated 15 Christmases, 15 Easters, 15 Hallowe'en and so on. But. But.
Tomorrow will be just my fourth leap year, a year that only presents itself once every four years.
Now, a lot of you are probably take a more pessimistic view on this special day, "So what? It's just another day! No statutory holiday! Who cares!?" but what you don't realize is that this day only happens every four years!
Very few people really understand how special this day is!
Most people of this generation will have about 90 Christmases, 90 Halloweens, 90 Easters... and some may even reach 100 or higher, but those people will only experience Leap Years Day about 20 or 25 times in their life! How incredible!
In most time zones, it is already Leap Years Day, however it isn't in mine yet, but I'm excited. Oh yeah, excited all right. Tomorrow, my friend's mother will turn the grand age of twelve, the exact age of her son. I find that really special, and I sometimes wish I had a birthday on Leap Years. How rare, to have a birthday on the most elusive day in all of humanity, how extraordinary.
So today, I'm thankful for leap year, even though many people don't care, I think it's special.
So ha.
