Surfing - Northern Style!

I got a present today - for no apparent reason.  I guess my kids just love me :)  I got a paddle board!!!  I'm very excited to use it.  For those of you who aren't up on your surfing lingo, a paddle board is a large surf board meant for standing up on and paddling like a canoe.  It's quite wide so it's fairly stable.  I had to try it out immediately so even though the ice has only been off the lake a few days, we brought my board down and I got first turn.  I must admit that I didn't fully commit to this experience.  I went on fully clothed so needless to say I didn't try anything drastic.  I stayed really close to shore and worked on my stability and paddle handling.  (FYI - the water was pretty chilly on my feet!  I was very inspired to not fall in!).  But it was so much fun!!!  I can totally see myself using this board a lot this summer.  I am thankful for my children and their totally amazing gift to me today.  Surf's up!  A.
