2nd Chances

A couple years ago, we gave the kids permission to grow their own garden but they had to find their own space to do it.  They got very busy cutting down weeds and building their own raised bed for their garden.  That's where the enthusiasm died.  They ended up harvesting a few onions I think.  How they lived through all the weeds I'll never know.
I came home a couple days ago to the boys busy setting up their raised bed again.  They were chopping up dirt, hauling new dirt with the wheelbarrow and generally working their butts off getting this little garden ready.  This time they are just going to put some pumpkin plants in it.  Good plan!  I'm proud of them for taking on this big job again even though the last time didn't turn out so well.  I don't know if they'll do any better this time but at least they are giving it a great effort.  I'll let you know in fall if we have a bumper crop of pumpkins!  A.
