Whiteboards vs Chalkboards

I got a whiteboard in my classroom to replace the chalkboard 3 years ago and I'm still thankful almost every time I write on it.  It's cleaner, you can use so many brilliant, vivacious colours (two people can use a thesaurus, princess J!) and when I wash it, the kids all comment on the clean fragrance (probably gassing them with chemicals in the special cleaner but hey, my board is clean!).  Plus my hands don't get all dried out from the chalk dust.  Win, win situation!  (Except the whole chemical warfare with the students but I find it calms them down - almost a sleep inducing type circumstance!).
So thank-you Martin Heit for your invention of the whiteboard (and thank-you Wikipedia for quick, almost always factual information).
