Yes, the title of the most awesome post ever (this one) could be interpreted as something mildly erm.. carnal... but try not to be so pious and let me justify myself! Jeez!
I feel like I'm back in the zone now. I will admit, this last week I haven't felt good about my blogging.
It's not like I wasn't thankful for things, I just felt like I couldn't express them as well as usual, but don't fret, J is BACK! I know you all missed me and my kooky, droll, behemothic words. ;)
Now, back to the focus of this post (it's not something raunchy)!
I'm thankful for brand new tubes of tooth paste, and being the first to use them.
Now you all go 'Ohhh'.
You know when you get down to the last bit of toothpaste and you have to squeeze, push, pull, roll, tug, and do the old 'press-it-really-hard-on-the-corner-of-the-counter'?
Well call me weird, but I despise that (though I must admit, there is ALWAYS more toothpaste in the tube, it's kind of awesome).
So as you can imagine, getting to open the new box, and being the first to squash a perfect squiggle-shaped glob of toothpaste onto my toothbrush is a bit of a treat, and I like to savour these moments.
The first glob of toothpaste is up there with:
The first bit of butter for your toast
The first spoonful of peanut butter from the jar.
The smoothness of a newly opened nutella glob.
The first sip of maple syrup on your pancakes (if you're Canadian, you get this).
New cheese, before it gets all gross.
Fresh milk.
Soda pop, before it loses all its fizzy bubbles.
Drinking ice cold water after a hot shower...?
I do that...
There's something about these things that is so... refreshing.
They give us a chance to really treasure simple things.
Simple new things.
So there you have it.
New toothpaste.
Goodnight!
J
