Talent

My daughter and I went to an Arts Festival tonight.  There has been a competition going on all week and tonight was the "best of the best".  Most of the entrants were kids and teenagers and I was constantly amazed at the talent that comes out of a small community like ours.  We saw many dance numbers, a few piano pieces, a solo, a speech, and a few other instruments (banjo, violin and flute).  I was drawn close to tears many times as beautiful talent after talent was showcased.  I personally have some basic talents but my measly ability in piano and guitar is nothing compared to the gifts these kids have.  (J. has crazy musical talents - she could have been at the Arts Festival).  I'm thankful for musical abilities which are nurtured and pushed along by caring teachers and parents who see the value in not only being exposed to different Arts but excelling in chosen Arts.  Did that make sense?  It inspires me to go force my kids to practice their piano :)  A.
