Today's thankful blog is about raking! Without stating the obvious, if you're from around here, you know that raking your lawn is either a sign of spring or fall. I saw a man raking his lawn yesterday and it gave me absolute joy! I think he is greatly premature in his endeavor to rake winter away and banish it from his brown lawn, but it still made me happy to see someone with such hope and optimism. I usually don't attempt this spring ritual until May (seriously - we have snow often until May - even in May!). So even the thought that spring may be around the corner with warmer days and flowers and budding trees, well it just caused my heart to burst into a Disney song (not sure which one, but it seemed appropriate). I'm sure raking will not be part of my thankful blog come September, but today it is!!! A.
