I'm sure in 365 days that I will duplicate the "Thankful for Family" post but I will do my best to make it distincly different each time so the blog police (cough - J) doesn't get all ornery. Oh wait - that's me that does the policing!!! :)
We're having a family birthday party tonight. My whole extended family still lives in the same area, within half an hour of each other. We try to get together at least once a month to celebrate all the birthdays of that month. Tonight we're celebrating two nephews, one niece and an uncle. I didn't have any cousins, aunts or uncles around when I was growing up so I'm very possessive of these parties for my own children. I think it's priceless that we can spend so much time together as a family and celebrate each others' special days. One brother-in-law and a husband (that would be mine) like to complain that we get together to celebrate when someone sneezes but I think this time together will always be an integral part of our lives and our children after us. I'm thankful for family birthday parties! A.
